Overview King George’s Medical College (KGMU), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh  In 1906, King George V, who was the Prince of Wales at the time, laid the cornerstone of King George’s Medical College. The college first welcomed students in 1911, but the formal opening ceremony wasn’t held until January 1912.
